Resorts World Genting honoured in Forbes Travel Guide

Resorts World Genting honoured in Forbes Travel Guide

It is the first time Kuala Lumpur debuted in the 2018 Forbes Travel Guide Star Rating with Resorts World Genting bagging two accolades in the international ratings.

The success was commendable as only three Malaysian hotels were cited in the annual survey.

The flagship Genting Grand Hotel was honoured with a coveted four-star rating while Maxims Hotel at Resorts World Genting gained a Recommended citation.

Genting Grand Hotel’s four-star achievement was the only Malaysian hotel to “hit the jackpot for a restful retreat”. It required an average score of 80% to 89% from Forbes Travel Guide inspectors.

The Forbes Travel Guide described the hotel as a “luxury retreat outside of Kuala Lumpur” and praising it for its “plush accommodations, gorgeous views and friendly staff”.

Maxims Hotel’s Recommendation listing required an average score of 70% to 79%.

It added that if Resorts World Genting was considered an out-of-this-world vacationing experience, then Maxims Genting might be its “brightest star”.

In a statement, Resorts World Genting deputy chief operating officer of resort operations Paul Baker said it was an honour to get the two accolades.

“To see our hard work recognised by the Forbes Travel Guide is gratifying, especially to all our staff who go out-of-their-way to provide the best service to our guests,” he said.

The Forbes Travel Guide Star Rating is released annually in the first quarter of every year.

Reviewing both the service and the quality of the property, Forbes Travel Guide Star Rating follows standards that focus on graciousness, thoughtfulness and a sense of personalised service to craft a list of five-star, four-star and recommended sites.

Genting Grand Hotel is the only hotel out of the 513 hotels in Malaysia that is awarded four-star status by Forbes while Maxims at Resorts World Genting is one of two hotels accredited in Malaysia.

So far, there is no five-star awarded to any hotel in the country.
